Silda Spitzer chooses a newborn calf over Eliot

As former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer tries making it in politics again, his wife Silda Wall Spitzer has been noticeably absent.

So what’s she been up to? According to the New York Times, she’s been taking care of a newborn calf. Yes. Really.

The Times reported earlier this week that Spitzer’s been spending time at her family’s 160-acre Hudson Valley retreat. There, she likes to paint and has been taking care of the young calf. The Times piece also makes note that the couple–who are still married–have been living separately, in New York City apartments, 18 blocks apart.
