Trey Gowdy and Bill O’Reilly laugh at the thought of Biden being president

Come for the one-liner, stick around for the laughs.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) zinged Vice-President Biden Thursday night with a comment critical of tossing President Obama out of office over an expected “executive amnesty” plan on immigration. FOX News’ Bill O’Reilly cited a network legal analyst who said such an act would be “unconstitutional and impeachable,” and turned it over to Gowdy for his thoughts on whether or not anyone in the House would “go down that road.”

” ‘Have you met Joe Biden?’ is my response to that. So, no. Nobody’s discussing impeachment except pundits and commentators,” Gowdy said.

The rest of the exchange, via FOX News:

O’REILLY: All right. So you see it as a bait that you’re not going to take?

GOWDY: I’m not going to take it because I’ve met Joe Biden. That’s not the answer.

O’REILLY: Explain the Biden reference.

GOWDY: He would be the new president!

O’Reilly finally picked up what Gowdy was putting down, and the two shared a laugh.

Gowdy also said during his interview with O’Reilly that the president should resist acting on immigration reform alone because he had a Democratic Congress to work with the first couple of years of his administration and failed to get anything done. Why not give Republicans a chance now that they’re the ones in charge?

“[W]e need to persuade our fellow citizens that from 2008 to 2010, when [the president] had the House, the Senate and the White House, he didn’t do a damn thing about immigration. So, why can’t he give the Republican House and Senate three months, six months, nine months to do what he wasn’t able to do in two years?”
