It appears the youth vote is slipping further and further out of Obama’s hands as a serious new video has surface in which frustrated young adults express their extreme disappointment with Obama, for whom they voted in 2008. “Change we can believe in… What we need is a jobs plan instead of more slogans” one girl says in the video, produced by the Romney for America campaign.
A kaleidoscope of young people appears in the dramatic video, repeating the 2008 Obama campaign slogans and comparing them with the reality they now face. They hit the president hardest on his recent statement that you can’t change Washington from the inside.
“And the most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t changing Washington from the inside,” the president is heard saying in a clip during the video. “What? No I can’t? No I can’t?” is how the puzzled twenty-somethings replied to the president’s shocking statement.
The video reminds viewers of an earlier Obama promise when a young man previews the Obama clip by saying, “Four years ago, I voted for you. I voted for this.” A vide of Obama then plays in which he emphatically states, “Those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums the spirit of a people, ‘yes we can’.”
“I didn’t vote for this,” the young man says, as the clip of Obama saying, “You can’t change Washington from the inside,” plays once again.
“In 2008, I voted for President Obama, I voted for hope,” one woman says. “But what I got was a bleak future that’s forced me to move back in with my parents,” another girl replies.
“What we need is Mitt Romney… You’re right Mr. President – no we can’t. But we can’t afford four more years of this.”
Obama’s appeal with the younger generation that propelled him to victory has seriously waned in recent months and this hard-hitting video by Romney only adds fuel to that fire.
