Clinton launches emoji keyboard to appeal to millennials, copying Kim Kardashian

A new “Hillarymoji” keyboard hit the iTunes store on Thursday, certain to convert millennials to the Clinton presidential campaign in droves.

Hillarymoji allows users to text cartoon depictions of Hillary Clinton dancing in a red pantsuit, texting on her Blackberry wearing sunglasses, fist-bumping, and appearing in a Wonder Woman costume with an “H” splashed across her chest.

Earlier this year, Clinton explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show how impressed she was with Kim Kardashian’s technological prowess, who also has an emoji keyboard based on herself. Kardashian, an avid Hillary-supporter, posted a selfie with the Democratic candidate, using her cell phone that boasts an array of “tiny lights” to make photographs more flattering. Clinton says she has been “desperately looking for” such a cell phone ever since.

In an attempt to woo millennials, Clinton’s campaign has focused on technology. She uses her Twitter to diss her opponent, Donald Trump, and to communicate with her supporters. However, the new IOS emoji keyboard has been the biggest step in appealing to younger voters.

The keyboard also makes it easy to donate to Clinton’s campaign and text the donation link to friends. Clinton isn’t the first to copy Kardashian’s keyboard, which includes cartoon depictions of her sticking up her middle finger and whacking people with her purse.

Justin Bieber, Steph Curry, and Blac Chyna are among those who also have emoji keyboards. Clinton is following in the footsteps of some of the most internet-savvy minds today.

Kardashian, who is an icon for millennial women in particular, is unapologetic in her support for Clinton on social media and Clinton, it appears, has taken a page from Kardashian’s book to catch them.
