In a tweet from Tuesday afternoon, AP seemed to have finally noticed something which most, especially on Twitter, seemed to have already noted.
The tweet from AP linked to their article by Catherine Lucey, “Clinton courts youth with celebs, but many prefer Sanders.”

The piece mentions the recent addition of Demi Lovato, Lena Dunham, and, of course, Katy Perry.
While Perry may be one of Hillary’s most excited supporters, her enthusiasm doesn’t translate to that from her fans. At a concert Perry played for Hillary in Iowa in October, many young people were just there for the free Katy Perry concert.
And with Lena Dunham, she is in a category all by herself when it comes to defending Hillary. With demonizing Republicans, being one of her past times, one would think for any other candidate she might be considered a liability.
As Twitchy took note though, “Young celebrities aren’t selling millennials on Hillary Clinton.” Their piece points to twitter reactions to AP, many who ask not to conflate their generation with the political views celebrities take. Some of the young people which Lucey spoke to her for her piece also expressed a similar sentiment, that they don’t care what the celebs say.
Some on Twitter also took the opportunity to make a joke about Bill Clinton.

And when it comes to Sanders age of 74, which Lucey highlighted and referred to as “rumpled,” late night talk show host Seth Meyers suggested that may actually help Sanders. He has entered, as Meyers calls it, the “Betty White zone.”
While Bernie Sanders has been in the news for his millennial support, particularly how much shocking support he has from young women, he has celebrities on his bandwagon as well.
