The young woman stated that she supports a non-interventionist foreign policy and doesn’t believe in nation building.

“I don’t believe we need to be the world’s police, which is something that Donald Trump has been advocating,” Fairbanks said. “Hillary Clinton on the other hand has vowed to be more hawkish than Obama, especially concerning Iran.”

Voting against Clinton was not enough for the millennial. She said that she became more informed about Trump by watching his speeches and found herself agreeing with him.

“People like reading the latest clickbait article about the crazy things Donald Trump has said but there’s actually a lot of substance in many of his speeches — actually all of his speeches,” Fairbanks said.

“For a long time I would watch them to pick out some stupid thing he said and write a stupid article, but a lot of what he says make sense.”

Ending common core, opposing the Trans-Pacific Trade Partnership, which Democrats refused to even put in their party platform, and reinvesting in infrastructure were the other issues Fairbanks felt passionate about and felt Trump was more in line with Sanders.

“Yes, Trump says some crazy shit, but Clinton is more dangerous,” Fairbanks said.

Fairbanks slammed the former secretary of state for her foreign interventionism and destabilizing the Middle East while Trump advocates for reducing money spent overseas to spend it domestically.

“It’s crazy. These platforms should be reversed, like maybe we shouldn’t be blowing people up for fun, maybe we need to focus on schools,” she said.

Trump’s populism and Clinton’s neo-conservatism has changed the paradigm and may help welcome some more Bernie Bros into the Republican’s big tent.
