Hell hath no fury like a Fox News host scorned.
Emmy awarding winning host Harris Faulkner is suing Hasbro toys for $5 million because of it’s “demeaning and insulting” toy hamster that she claims shares her name and looks like her, reported Deadline.
Faulkner is demanding financial compensation for using her trademarked name and look. She would also like a full account of how much money Hasbro has made off the toy, and wants to prevent the company from selling any more of the toy hamsters.
Hasbro introduced the toy as part of its Little Pet Shop line back in 2014.
According to Deadline, Hasbro has pulled the toy from the online store since Faulkner filed her lawsuit.
Other than claiming that the hamster looks like her, the Fox News host claims the toy is a choking hazard, and she doesn’t endorse products that could harm children or her credentials.
“Further, Faulkner does not endorse products of any kind, as doing so would be a breach of journalistic ethics, would directly harm her professional credibility, and would be in violation of her contractual obligations to her employer,” her lawyer wrote in the complaint.
“This means that Hasbro misappropriated Faulkner’s name, likeness, identity, or persona without consent, for its own profit, for the purpose of capitalizing off of her good name and persona, all at Faulkner’s expense,” the complaint said.
