Some of the most successful actors are able to channel personal experience to make their character convincing to an audience. This shouldn’t be a problem for Alec Baldwin if he winds up playing a fictional version of Rob Ford in a upcoming television show.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Baldwin is “developing a new TV show with NBC Productions, in which he would play the central character, a Rob Ford-type mayor of New York City.”
Baldwin and the Toronto mayor have both had their fair share of image-altering scandals. MSNBC even cancelled Baldwin’s show “Up Late” after his famous rant with the paparazzi in 2013. Even though Baldwin has recently taken a break from “public life,” Ford’s outrageous behavior shouldn’t be hard for him to mirror.
