Changing Redskins name not a ‘Hard Choice’ for Hillary, calls team name ‘insensitive’

Hillary Clinton is the latest politician to weigh in on the Redskin name debate, and she’s pushing for the football team to change its name.

“I think it’s insensitive and I think there’s no reason for it to continue as the name of a team in our nation’s capital,” she said in an interview with Fusion’s Jorge Ramos.  “I would love to see the owners think hard about what they could substitute.”

The long-standing debate about changing the D.C. football team’s name was reignited in late May when Harry Reid and 49 other senators signed a letter petitioning the NFL to change the Redskins team name. Since then, many other notable figures have weighed in, including President Barack Obama, who, like Hillary, encouraged the team to change its name.

Guess this one is not a “Hard Choice” for her.
