Newt Gingrich: Obama has “wacked out ideas”

At a Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute conference on conservative leadership Friday former 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was not shy to voice his disagreement with President Barack Obama, calling the President incompetent and his ideas “wacked out.”

Obama’s “wacked out ideas,” Gingrich explained to the group assembled on Capitol Hill, are representative of the academic class that sits around talking about obnoxiously intellectual books over cocktails. As a result, Obama was unprepared and incompetent when he took office, according to Gingrich. He explained that the pPresident was “shocked to discover that shovel ready jobs weren’t shovel ready,” among other things.

In Gingrich’s opinion, “a fact-based society destroys modern liberals” because it shows how “wacked out” Obama’s ideas and the ideas of his liberal counterparts actually are.

But Gingrich explained that liberals are “imposing false history” on college campuses and making it “decisively painful” for students to be conservative.

“We have to win the cultural fight to take back the campuses,” he said.

Gingrich encouraged students not only to work hard, but to also do what they love.

“We desperately need a generation of innovation,” he said, theorizing that brain research should be the biggest area of breakthrough in the next 25 years because it would make strides toward cures for Alzheimer’s disease, autism, and other mental disorders.

Gingrich encouraged his young, conservative audience to be “noisy” in order to win the cultural war against liberals and advised them to look toward President Abraham Lincoln for inspiration. Lincoln, Gingrich said, was the greatest winner of a cultural war, which he credited to Lincoln’s ability to move public opinion.
