Marco Rubio gets foreign policy strategy from Liam Neeson’s ‘Taken’

Marco Rubio has been catching up on his popular culture.

At Saturday’s South Carolina Freedom Summit, the Florida senator and Republican candidate for president spotlighted his strategy to defeat radical jihadists like the members of ISIS by referring to the ever popular film “Taken,” according to Bloomberg.

“On our strategy on global jihadists and terrorists, I refer them to the movie ‘Taken,'” Rubio said to cheers from his audience. “Have you seen the movie ‘Taken’? Liam Neeson. He had a line, and this is what our strategy should be: ‘We will look for you, we will find you, and we will kill you.'”

The 2008 movie, which stars Neeson, was so popular — especially among young Americans — that it has given way to “Taken 2” and “Taken 3” and served as a major high point in the actor’s career.

Rubio’s campaign even leveraged the quote, tweeting out a meme of Neeson delivering the line.
