Ready for Hillary prepares to shut down, launches mega swag sale

Ready for Hillary is about ready to shut down.

The super PAC that has dedicated itself for two years to drumming up support for a Hillary Clinton presidential run is putting all of its Hillary swag on sale, unloading its famed bus and handing off its social media accounts.

The timetable all along, of course, has been that the dissolution of Ready for Hillary will take place just as Clinton’s official presidential campaign emerges.

From Politico:

The group’s plan was always to fade to black; hand over its robust email list of close to 4 million supporters to the official campaign, once one exists; and end its operations. That updated list of names and contacts provides the Clinton campaign, which is expected to formally announce in early to mid-April, with a valuable organizing springboard.

But there was no firm arrangement for what to do with everything else — the website, the lawn signs, the social media feeds, the leftover swag, the beloved Hillary Bus — until this week.

The final agreement has the Ready for Hillary bus, which is adorned ironically with photo of Clinton e-mailing on BlackBerry, being gifted to EMILY’s List, a nonprofit group that gets behind pro-choice Democratic women running for office.

EMILY’s List, which has its own campaign called “Madam President” geared toward putting a female president in the White House, will also inherit the group’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Ready for Hillary currently has 145,000 Twitter followers, 26,700 Instagram followers, and nearly 2.2 million fans on Facebook.

However, the most exciting result of the end of Ready for Hillary (for Clinton fans, at least) will undoubtedly be the massive sale on the group’s swag. Currently, all the pro-Hillary gear — champagne glasses, dog sweatshirts, hostess napkins and iPhone cases included — is 40 percent off.

There has never been a better time to go spring shopping if you’re a liberal!
