Thought “Sharknado” didn’t go far enough when it came to killer animals? Then check out the pre-production trailer to “Squirrels,” the latest movie by “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” director Timur Bekmambetov. Its focus: A pack of rabid, killer squirrels.
In the two-minute trailer, a grandmother and her elementary-school aged granddaughter are walking in the woods by a suburban neighborhood when they come across what looks to be an innocent squirrel. The grandmother suggests that her granddaughter give the squirrel an acorn, and after contemplating accepting it, the squirrel — well, you can see for yourself.
According to the website Bleeding Cool, the actual movie focuses on a young man who returns home to uncover the mystery surrounding his father’s death. He then encounters, among other things, “an army of flesh-eating squirrels hellbent on destroying everything in their path.”
Watch the pre-production trailer below, although we highly suggest not doing it on your lunch break — especially if you have a tendency to get squeamish during horror flicks or at the sight of blood.
