Rep. Eric Cantor: “House blocked Spotify? This is 2013…Let the music flow!”

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has a beef with the U.S. House of Representatives. The Virginia Republican is upset that he can’t listen to his favorite rappers Jay-Z and Wiz Kalifia at work anymore!

After the House blocked the music streaming service Spotify last month, the Virginia Congressman decided to take a firm stance on this momentous issue.

Spotify is also furious the House isn’t ‘letting the music flow.’

“Music is a common language that all political parties speak and should be used to bring the legislators of this great country together so they can solve the serious issues facing our nation,” a Spotify spokesman told Politico Thursday.

A spokesman for the Office of the Chief administrator officer explained to Politico that they blocked the site “to help protect House data.”

“Our IT policy generally prohibits the use of peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies while operating within the secure network,” a spokesman for the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer reportedly said this week. “Spotify is currently not authorized,” he added.

Hopefully Cantor’s not too jealous of the Senators who apparently still have the luxury on their side of the Capitol.
