In the midst of the Baltimore riots, the Orioles played the Chicago White Sox in an empty stadium. SNL riffed off this for one of their skits, featuring sportscasters awkwardly trying to avoid the subject.
“Baltimore has just been on fire this week,” they stammer.
“Baltimore took an absolute beating from the boys in blue—don’t know why I called them that…”
Once the game gets going, things just get worse, as the ball gets shot down by a military drone and Scarlett Johansson flees for safety.
