Barbra Streisand behind latest DCCC fundraising plea

Barbra Streisand in your inbox? Don’t worry, it’s just the latest fundraising blast from the Democrats.

It’s no secret Hollywood is planted in the Left’s back pocket, and the latest push for money from Democratic supporters came from the actress and signer. Babs lent her name to a fundraising email the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent to supporters Thursday, proposing a call to action for fellow Democrats to stop the “obstructionist Republicans in the House.”

“The American public has been watching the House Republicans and their approval rating is an abysmal 16 percent,” Streisand said in the email. “We cannot let the right wing roll back more than 30 years of social progress on women’s rights, minority rights, and LGBT rights. Each of us needs to take action.”

The entertainment extraordinaire went on to ask supporters to donate money — at least $3 — in an effort to combat the Republicans and back President Barack Obama’s agenda.

Streisand is no stranger to politics, serving as an advocate and ardent supporter of the Democratic Party for years. The “Funny Girl” star helped raise money to defeat California’s Proposition 8 — recently overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court — in 2007 and cut an ad in favor of President Obama before the 2012 election.

And as Election Day loomed, Streisand teamed up with the DCCC, blasting the committee’s mailing list with a plea for ’emergency contributions’ as Obama headed into the campaign’s home stretch.
