Jesse Eisenberg showed some personality in a recent interview – but not in a good way.
The “Social Network” actor went on the Univision show “Say My Name with Romina” to talk about his new film “Now You See Me” when he decided to act rudely and embarrass the show’s host to the point of tears.
Eisenberg first refused to say his name loudly on camera at the beginning of the interview – the show’s namesake feature which all guests are asked to do.
“Can I just have you say my name into the camera?” “Say My Name” host Romina Puga asked him. “[Like] you’re trying to find me in a crowded place.”
Eisenberg responded quietly.
“That’s it?” Puga asked. “I would never hear you.”
“Well the thing is I actually didn’t want to find you,” Eisenberg said. “I was actually hoping to stay alone.”
He also took offense to Puga simply referring to his “Now You See Me” co-star Morgan Freeman by just his last name, commenting that it’s like she’s “on a baseball team with him.”
Puga was ultimately brought to tears when Eisenberg called her the “Carrot Top of interviewers.” He also insisted that Puga was “on my time” despite the fact that he’s appeared on her show.
According to The Inquisitor, both Eisenberg and Puga have been criticized for their behavior in the interview, with some saying it was her fault for being ill-prepared and others saying it was his fault for being rude and mean.
That didn’t stop Puga from posting about the interview on social media after it was finished, however.
“So, I was just humiliated by Jesse Eisenberg,” she wrote on Univision’s Tumblr. “You know, the actor who played Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network.”
