Raffi and Ron: How Trump’s convention can win millennials [VIDEO]

What can Donald Trump do to win over millennial voters this week at the convention? How was day one?

Red Alert Politics editor Ron Meyer joined Raffi Williams from Circa — a new video news site for the next generation. This was Circa’s first newscast, live from the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

“He’s got to start targeting people who he’s not talking to right now,” Meyer said. “There’s so many people who think Trump doesn’t understand their problems, that he’s not going to fight for them.”

Meyer said Trump needs to start having the attitude: “I get that you have student loan problems. I get that the cost of living has gone through the roof. I get all these things, and here’s what we’re going to do to fix them.”

“Not just talking points. Not just ‘I’m a winner,’ ‘I’ll figure it out,’ ‘I’ll make good deals’ — but give [millennials] an actual sense that you know what the heck you’re doing.”

“The first thing is, you got to show up,” Williams said. “He hasn’t shown up yet.”

Williams said in his conversations with Trump allies, they signaled he’ll target millennials and minorities.

“He’s going to start saying ‘screw you’ to the conventional wisdom that every time we go into the black community we get one vote for every two votes we give the Democrats. He’s going to make a play there. It’s going to be on immigration.”
