Bill Clinton must watch a lot of TV.
The former president appeared on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” Tuesday and discussed his affinity for political television shows like “House of Cards” and “Scandal.”
“The thing about ‘Scandal’ and ‘House of Cards’ that makes it fun to watch is that I can imagine that either a President Spacey or the president’s chief of staff on ‘Scandal’ could really get away with murder,” explained Clinton with a smile.
“I wish I’d known about that when I was in office,” the former Democratic president continued. “You know, think of all the opportunities I’ve missed. So little time, so many people had that coming. Crazy.”
Clinton also alleged that he is a “very close friend” of “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey, who plays Francis Underwood on the Netflix drama.
However, Bill isn’t only attracted to political series. He also tunes in to shows created by Shonda Rhimes, who is the woman behind “Scandal.” Apparently, he and President Obama have something in common.
“I love anything Shonda Rhimes does,” explained Clinton. “I still watch ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ I’m a devoted ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fan. I like this ‘How to Get Away with Murder.’ I like ‘Scandal.'”
Obama spent some time in Rhimes’ home over the summer at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee ahead of the midterm election.
Perhaps Clinton and Obama can commiserate about the Democrats’ loss in the midterms over a few episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
