All the talk that Hillary Clinton will unite the Democratic Party once she finally ties up the nomination has gone in vain. The ‘Bernie Bros’ are taking to the streets of Philadelphia to protest the Democratic Convention in July.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Sanders supporters have secured permits to protest at FDR Park near the convention’s base at the Wells Fargo Center — for the entire four days leading to Clinton’s expected nomination.
Philadelphia police are preparing for about 30,000 protestors, but organizers are hoping a lot more will show up to fight the Party’s establishment.
There are three other smaller protests planned at the Thomas Paine Plaza, which is located a few miles from the convention’s venue. Philadelphia is expecting just a few thousand to show up at those events.
Organizers are insisting that the event will not turn out like the Nevada Democratic Convention which broke into utter chaos.
Nonetheless, there will be tens of thousands of far left activists inside the Well Fargo Center and the two other locations, and whenever Sanders supporters gather in mass, outbreaks of violence tend to breakout.
They could turnout as just peaceful protests against the establishment, or it could become 1968 Democratic National Convention all over again. Only time will tell.
