Obama plugs his vision to young entrepreneurs, gets a job offer

President Obama spoke Thursday at Cross Campus in Santa Monica, California, a space for startup companies. His remarks targeted millennials and young entrepreneurs.

After brief prepared remarks, Obama took questions from the entrepreneurs in the audience.

At one point, he touched on his administration’s student loan repayment plan that caps student repayments at ten percent of their income. “A lot of you are part of the millennial generation that’s going to change how we do things. Today more of our young people are earning a college degree than ever before,” said Obama.

He called entrepreneurship the “DNA” of the millennial generation, and said he was “chronically optimistic” about America’s future.

At the end, one young man offered Obama a job at his company. Obama responded that he would have to check out their “perks.”

“Do you have, like, a sushi bar?”

Obama’s speech followed the White House’s rollout of a new millennial-focused social media campaign Thursday, featuring emojis.
