Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) had one heck of a staff #fail Thursday, but the National Republican Senatorial Committee pulled off one heck of a win, capitalizing on the Democratic senator’s Twitter faux pas.
As the east coast braced for Winter Storm Pax, which paralyzed the South, Warner and his staff took to his official Twitter account to deliver a low blow to the Republican Party of Virginia.
The tweet was deleted quickly after it went live on Twitter, but was saved on the Sunlight Foundation’s website that archives deleted tweets.
Many Republicans fired back at Warner for taking a cheap political shot at the GOP. But the NRSC had the best comeback.
Hey Sen. @MarkWarner, less tweeting offensive jokes & a little more shoveling would be appreciated by your neighbors pic.twitter.com/Iq6LOkdy4r

Brad Dayspring, spokesman for the organization, confirmed to POLITICO the photo was indeed of the sidewalk in front of Warner’s home.
The Virginia Democrat, who is up for reelection in November, called the tweet a “staff #fail,” and Kevin Hall, Warner’s communications director, told POLITICO it was him who had sent the tweet.
Oops. Staff #fail on a snow day. Removed as quickly as possible. Enjoy the rest of your snow day.
