Sen. Pat Roberts’ ‘Let it Go’ ringtone interrupts Patriot Act debate

Oops, he did it again — wait, wrong song.

Republican Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts’ cellphone went off during the Senate’s special Sunday evening floor debate on the extension of the Patriot Act, which expired at midnight Monday.

The lawmaker’s ringtone, the hit song “Let it Go” from Disney’s Frozen, played while Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kent.) was giving a speech about the bill, as reported IJ Review.

The first time we became acquainted with Roberts’ musical taste was back in April when his ringtone interrupted his commenting on U.S. Tariff Policy.

The 78-year-old senator took the embarrassing interruption and used the title for his own purposes in a tweet, adding that the kiddie-movie ringtone was supposedly “#forthegrandkids.”

This time, it is unclear whether Roberts’ strategically-timed ringtone was an accident or a thinly-veiled hint to the debaters over the contested Patriot Act to move on and “let it go.”
