Candidates asked about $10 bill towards end of debate

The GOP presidential debate went on for over three hours last night, but the end of the event was still nevertheless memorable. This is because CNN decided to ask the questions some “light-hearted” questions as well.

In light of the Treasury’s decision to put a woman on the $10 bill, the candidates were asked who they would put.

Senator Rand Paul: Susan B. Anthony in light of “women’s suffrage.”

Governor Mike Huckabee:  His wife, which was met with laughter. “That way she can spend her own money.”

Senator Marco Rubio: Rosa Parks,”an everyday American who changed the course of history.”

Senator Ted Cruz: Rosa Parks, who he said “was a principled pioneer… and that would be an honor entirely appropriate.”

Ben Carson: His mother, who Carson mentioned was one of 24 children, married at 13, had only a third grade education and had to raise two sons by herself, but “refused to be a victim, and refused to let us be victims, and has been an inspiration for many people.”

Donald Trump: He initially joked that he would pick his daughter Ivanka, who had been sitting at the debate for three hours, he ultimately chose Rosa Parks.

Governor Jeb Bush: Margaret Thatcher, who he noted was “probably illegally, but what the heck.”

Governor Scott Walker: Clara Barton, the founder of the Red Cross. Walker had once worked for the organization.

Carly Fiorina: No change. It’s “a gesture.” She mentioned “it doesn’t help to change our history… women are not a special interest group… this nation will be better off when every woman has the opportunity to live the life she chooses.”

Governor John Kasich: Mother Theresa, although Kasich also acknowledged the choice was not maybe legal. She was “a woman who lived a life so much bigger than her own, an inspiration to everyone when we think about our responsibility to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.”

Governor Chris Christie: Abigail Adams, since Christie believes “the Adams family has been shorted in the currency business. Our country wouldn’t be here without John Adams, and he wouldn’t be able to do it without Abigail Adams.”
