Newt Gingrich charging supporters $200 to ask him questions at Michigan event

Former presidential candidate and Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has decided to charge a whopping $200 to those interested in attending his “Newt Uncensored: An evening of conversation with Newt Gingrich” in Grand Rapids, Mich. later this month.

The event, which is billed as an intimate conversation between Gingrich and his supporters, will be held June 28 at the DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids. Interested people can buy tickets to the June 28 event via Ticketmaster.

“We’re calling it ‘Newt Uncensored,’ and it will be unlike anything we’ve done before,” Gingrich wrote in an email to supporters. “No questions unanswered. No holds barred. And no commercial interruptions.”

“Anyone who cares about the future of our country knows that we have a lot to talk about. It will be an unforgettable evening!” he added.

Not everyone in attendance will have to pay $200, however – that’s just the cost of the orchestra tickets in the front of the theater. Seats in the back will only cost you $45, but you’ll be less likely to have your questions answered if sitting in one of those seats. Purchasing an orchestra seat also gets you into a meet-and-greet and photo-op with the former House speaker.

Since leaving Congress in 1999, Gingrich has founded several policy think tanks, served as a political consultant and run for president. He also runs the online “Newt University,” a series of seminars to get young conservatives involved in the cause.
