This is finger-licking good.
BuzzFeed has unearthed a 1999 Pizza Hut advertisement that mocked Hillary Clinton for being a carpetbagger by moving to New York in order to run for the state’s U.S. Senate seat.
The ad, which ran during the 1999 World Series between the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves, features a Hillary Clinton lookalike — sporting a short haircut and pantsuit — touting Pizza Hut’s 16-inch “Big New Yorker” pizza pie as “the quintessential New York pizza.”
“How do I know so much about New York pizza?” the actress says. “Cause, New York, I want to be your next senator!”
An actor playing an NYPD officer balks at the price of the pizza — $9.99 — at the end of the commercial, saying, “What do they think this is, Arkansas?”
Despite the cheesy attack ad, Clinton still secured the U.S. Senate seat in 2000. Watch it below.
