Bill Nye the Science Guy rules on deflate-gate: Belichick’s science ‘didn’t make any sense’

After the Patriots’ press conference on “deflate-gate,” coach Bill Belichick was sarcastically dubbed “Bill Belichick the Science Guy” for his attempts to defend the team’s deflated balls with a complex scientific argument.

So who better to weigh in on the controversy than Bill Nye himself? Good Morning America caught up with Nye—and he was not impressed by his new rival.

“I’m not too worried about Coach Belichick’s competing with me,” Nye quipped. “What he said didn’t make any sense.”

“Rubbing the football, I don’t think, can change the pressure. To really change the pressure, you need one of these,” Nye said, displaying an inflation needle.
