Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) didn’t return fire on former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and his likely 2016 rival Sunday morning on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Perry essentially called Cruz the “Republican Barack Obama” earlier this week.
He said, “I think [voters] are going to make a rather radical shift, away from a young, untested United States senator whose policies have really failed.”
CNN host Dana Bash recounted the statement for Cruz, obviously hoping to get a rise out of him.
“Listen, I like Rick Perry,” Cruz said. “People occasionally throw rocks in politics. That’s his choice. I’m going say I think he did a good and effective job as governor of our state.”
“Taking the high road,” Bash replied.
