Democrats love using birthday celebrations to fundraise

Democrats are having quite the time hijacking birthdays in an effort to fundraise for their party.

The latest birthday celebration to be leveraged by America’s liberals is that of former President Bill Clinton, who turned 68 Tuesday. The Democratic National Committee is predictably sending around e-mails asking individuals to sign Clinton’s birthday card.

After one signs the card and supplies his or her e-mail, the “Happy Birthday” wisher is taken to a page asking for donations to the Clinton Foundation. Gift amounts range from $25 to $1000 or more, and one can even surprise the former president with a recurring monthly gift.

Likewise, earlier this month, Organizing for Action asked individuals to sign an electronic card of their choice for President Obama in the spirit of his 53rd birthday. Unfortunately for old Bill, the Clinton Foundation isn’t surprising him with multiple cards like those that were signed, sealed and delivered to Obama.

I took the liberty of signing Clinton’s card from “Monica Lewinsky.” Despite my efforts, I was unable to gift the blue dress I wanted to donate to the Clinton Foundation. I guess Bill only wants money for his birthday.

However, they shouldn’t miss my contribution. After all, the charity will be ripe with donations, considering Hillary Clinton has a big check for $225,000 rolling in for her UNLV speech engagement. That’s a whole lot of recurring monthly gifts.
