If you’re not a member of the Van Jones-loving, social justice-advocating progressive class you might have been unaware that the Left is already lining up its 2016 presidential ticket.
Who’s at the top of that list? None other than Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren. Forget about being the first Native American Senator from Massachusetts, Warren could be the first Native American President!
In a Democracy Corps/Campaign for America’s Future straw poll conducted at the “Take Back the American Dream Conference” this week in Washington, D.C. Warren won with 32 percent of the vote. The former Harvard professor and wannabe-Obama czar beat out obvious first choice Secretary of State Hilary Clinton (27 percent), Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown (16), New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (6), Virginia Senator Mark Warner (4) and Vice-President Joe Biden (3). “Other” received 12 percent of the vote and zero participants selected “Don’t Know.”
So keen is the Left on electing Warren to the presidency, an Elizabeth Warren for President 2016 page already has 1,849 likes on facebook.
Warren, who has been called “the biggest rock star candidate in the 2012 Senate races” by the National Journal, was apparently suggested in liberal circles as a dark horse Democratic presidential candidate for 2012.
At the time, one liberal blogger called Warren the “Reagan-level Great Communicator” Obama could never be who has “done remarkably well every time she has been thrown in the deep end of the pool.”
Likewise, in a portion of the straw poll asking attendees to rate their “feelings toward some people and organizations,” Warren received an average rating of 87.7 percent compared with Obama’s 77.7 mean score.
But is Warren even interested in the presidency? In a live-chat hosted by The Boston Globe today I asked Warren just that.
So, I’ll take that as a Barack Obama-esque no for now but maybe later?
In advance of a possible 2016 run, progressives are currently trying to draft Warren as the keynote speaker at this year’s Democratic presidential nominating convention in Charlotte, N.C.

Even if it turns out Warren isn’t “the Great Liberal Hope” the Left expects her to be, as one liberal blog mentioned, she could always get a TV show! Perhaps she could have fellow Native Americans on it to talk about their shared heritage!
