Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is hiring 20 full-time staffers to run what they describe as a “high-tech phone bank” in their headquarters just outside of Washington, D.C.
The program, described as something YAL can “win on principle,” will start July 29 and last through the first week of September, according to an email sent to supporters this morning. August is typically a busy primary month during election years.
Though the program runs for six weeks, participants can select which specific weeks they are available to work for YAL. The position pays $200 per week and will provide free lunch and dinner every day and lodging while participants are in D.C.
Those who get into the program will be expected to work long hours, typically 7 days per week in a campaign environment. According to the email,“Only the most committed pro-liberty activists will be accepted for this paid program.
“YAL led the way to educate voters in several key U.S. House and U.S. Senate races—including Thomas Massie’s district in Kentucky and Ted Cruz’s Senate race in Texas, the email says, stating that more than 260,000 phone calls were made in four weeks for those races.
Bonnie Kristian, Communications Director for YAL, said she had no comment on specific congressional districts or particular politicians who would be supported or targeted by the volunteers.
