Red Alert Politics‘ own Francesca Chambers appeared on PBS‘ ‘To the Contrary‘ this week, talking about the filibuster by Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis, the Supreme Court’s decisions on same-sex marriage and ‘flexism.’
Francesca argued that 62 percent of Texans support the 20-week abortion ban, which is the most important factor in looking at the proposed legislation. She said that banning abortions after 20 weeks — the point at which the unborn child can feel pain — is not unreasonable.
On gay marriage, Francesca said the Supreme Court upheld states’ rights in striking down DOMA, but ruled against the rights of voters in its Prop 8 decision.
In discussing flexible work hours, Francesca said young people shouldn’t demand to work from home. Instead, they should see flexible work hours as a perk or benefit of their job.
During the ‘To the Contrary‘ Extra, the ladies talked about the Saudi Arabia Women’s Conference — where there were no women present — and the treatment of women in that country.
