Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) sure seem to have lost their sense of humor during the government shutdown — and rightfully so. But that hasn’t stopped some Reddit users in the Washington, D.C., area from taking full advantage of the government’s shuttering.
A Reddit user from the nation’s capital took to the website around 8 a.m. Tuesday as the country awoke to news of the government officially shutting down asking those who work in D.C. to report their observations. Some user reported business as usual, with traffic remaining heavy and the metro-rail experiencing its typical delays. Others, though, mustered up some creativity, reporting the outrageous signs of “panic” many top government officials warned of.
