“If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that,” Obama said several weeks ago during a speech to supporters in Roanoke, VA. “Somebody else made that happen.”
It was the greatest blunder in the 2012 campaign and the most poignant example of the most fundamental difference that sets apart President Obama from Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
Make no mistake Republicans: these comments are crucial to the Romney campaign and should serve as a wakeup call to the rest of the country. Obama is killing what created and drives this exceptional country. By deterring small-business owners, Obama knows he can more easily push his socialist agenda for America.
What happened to the American dream that says anyone can succeed in this country through hard work, ambition, and then a little more hard work? Too much government interference has led towards too much dependence on the government- but that’s precisely Obama’s solution.
Obama’s comments aren’t being taken out of context; in fact, his comments will predictably be well-received by his supporters given the fact that government anti-poverty programs have grown exponentially now serving a record one in six Americans.
The crowd cheered as Obama pandered to teachers and attributed the earned success of hard workers to the government. More than 50 million Americans are on Medicaid and more than 40 million people are receiving food stamps – Obama is certainly pandering to the right crowd. Why apologize?
Obama is now trying to recant his comments, but he can’t. Obama has been singing the same song all along but unfortunately he let his true colors get the best of him and he just couldn’t stop saying exactly what it is he dreams for America. The implication that Obama dreams of an entire nation receiving government assistance seems unimaginable, but his recent comments unfortunately suggest otherwise.
It was all too much as the audience clapped and cheered him on – Obama said what he said and he meant it.
Romney recently unleashed a new ‘I built it’ t-shirt campaign. Romney knows from experience, as do millions of Americans, that the government doesn’t create successful businesses, but hard-working individuals do. Government is the problem.
Some say it is clear Obama doesn’t understand how our economy works. Or does he? Make no mistake; this was no gaffe. Obama is trying to discourage individual hard work in order to achieve his ultimate goal and that is to make more people dependent on the government. If Obama continues with this motif into a second term, there will be no choice but to rely on the government.
