Thousands of protesters showed up to the Rally for Citizenship on Wednesday, but some of those in attendance didn’t seem to know why they were there or even who Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is — despite holding signs with his name on them.
As a video from the Media Research Center shows, parents and their children held up signs that read “Mr. Rubio your parents are immigrants.”
Yet the parents admitted they hadn’t made the signs themselves, but were given them by social workers or officials at their kids’ school, Thompson Elementary School, where more than half of the attendees are Hispanic. Several of the parents didn’t know who Rubio was.
