Obamas again celebrate president’s birthday, this time in Washington

President Obamas birthday may have been last weekend, but he and first lady Michelle Obama celebrated it in Washington Thursday night, too. They dined for two and a half hours at the Indian restaurant Rasika West End, taking over the private room. No word on what they ate.

“No doubt…sautéed spinach,” joked the New York Post’s Geoff Earle who was on White House pool duty at the time. Earle noted that Michelle Obama was wearing a short black dress. He added that he was holding at Meiwah across the street, a restaurant that made news recently because Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner‘s wife, grabbed a bite there with Hillary Clinton‘s spokesman Philippe Reines, after Weiner made his new sexting confessions. “[N]ot that they need any more free publicity,” Earle said of Meiwah in the pool report.

Besides the Thursday date night, the Obamas spent last weekend toasting the president’s birthday at Camp David. POTUS golfed and played basketball with a group of friends.

This weekend the Obamas are again heading out of town. On Saturday they start their eight day summer vacation at Martha’s Vineyard.
