Piers Morgan: Obama has ‘committed professional suicide’

Piers Morgan’s debut piece for the Daily Mail Online, where he is now U.S. editor-at-large, opens by asserting that Obama has “committed professional suicide.”

Morgan pointed to Obama’s appearance on “60 Minutes,” where he shifted blame for the United States’ muddled response to ISIS on National Intelligence Director James Clapper underestimating the threat.

“A more shameless, reprehensible display of buck-passing it would be hard to find from a sitting President,” Morgan said.

Morgan also noted Obama’s tendency to skip his intelligence briefings, suggesting this caused him to miss the “unambiguous public warnings made nearly a year ago in front of the Foreign Affairs Committee that ISIS was on the march in Syria and Iraq.”

Shockingly sounding just like a conservative pundit, Morgan rounded off his piece by taking a shot at Obama golfing after his condolence remarks on executed American journalist James Foley.

“It’s time he got off the damn golf course, got up to speed with his intelligence briefings and focused on wiping out ISIS,” Morgan concluded.
