Peter King says Rand Paul and Ted Cruz aren’t ‘responsible adults’

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) just can’t get enough of bashing Senators Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

Most recently, King turned his remarks to the International Association of Firefighters into an opportunity to explain why neither Cruz nor Rand is qualified to run for president.

“We have people running for president, I mentioned Rand Paul, now he’s concerned about drones, he’s afraid the CIA might use drones to attack Americans drinking coffee in Starbucks,” King said sarcastically.

“Then we have Ted Cruz, who believed that the government should be shut down a year and a half ago,” King continued. He went on to mock Cruz’s recitation of “Green Eggs and Ham” on the Senate floor during his speech against Obamacare:  “Again, do you really want a commander-in-chief who thinks the way to run the government is to read Dr. Seuss on the Senate floor and shut down the United States government?”

“No,” King said, answering his own question. “We need responsible adults. We need people who realize that we’re in a dangerous world.”

“Let’s realize that the enemy is not the NSA or the CIA, it’s ISIS, it’s Islamist terrorism, and don’t be scaring the American people,” King said, claiming that worrying about domestic spying programs would convince ISIS to attack.

King has lashed out at these two same senators in the past: he has said Paul is unfit to be a member of the Senate, and called Ted Cruz a fraud, just to name a few.
