Things went off the rails for liberal activist and actor George Takei when he posted a poll on Twitter to get the answer to a question he thought he’d easily get from his fans. It all went down after President Trump posted this to Twitter.
“Trump says the media is the true enemy of the American people. So let’s take a poll. Who do you think does more HARM to the American people?” Takei asked.
His two choices were 1) the “Unfair” News Media or 2) Donald J. Trump. It didn’t pan out the way he hoped.
Takei likely posted the tweet expecting his 2.18 million Twitter followers to select Trump overwhelmingly. But after nearly 70,000 votes, the balance tilted from the media winning to Trump.
It probably didn’t help Takei that Trump supporters were tipped off about the poll and did their due diligence of voting for Trump.
Alright Trump Train, let’s make our presence known. https://t.co/BcDPyouFQJ

Takei knew it was a lost cause. However, rather than owning up to the fact that he got owned, Takei deleted the Twitter poll. Twitter users were not happy with Takei’s dishonesty.
So this happened: @GeorgeTakei deletes his poll when it’s not turning out exactly as planned. So damn dishonest. pic.twitter.com/sllBWbtUHk

Funniest thing on twitter in a long time. George Takei takes down his twitter poll when he realizes the results start going the wrong way. pic.twitter.com/FnMikGS0xx

@GeorgeTakei I am a big fan. Have you gone mad? You made a poll then deleted it when it didn’t go your way. Seriously.

Moral of the story: never tweet.
