Benedict Cumberbatch plays detective Sherlock Holmes in the PBS series ‘Sherlock’, but can he solve a real-life riddle put to him by his Muppet arch-nemesis?
In this witty new PBS short, Cumberbatch is joined by his fuzzy foe Murray, er, Murray-arty — a play on the name of Holmes’ enemy Moriarty.
“Did you miss me? Did you miss me?” the puppet inquires, mimicking Moriarty’s chant from the show.
“Murray, I don’t really have an arch-nemesis in real life,” Cumberbatch explains.
Murray-arty won’t be stopped, however, forcing Cumberbatch to solve a counting riddle. But since the actor isn’t actually a detective, he calls in a little help — Sesame Street‘s Count.
Will Cumberbatch and the Count solve the riddle? Or will Murray-arty seize the day?
