While Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum were fighting to the finish in Michigan, Ron Paul was already looking toward Super Tuesday with an event in Springfield, Virgina billed as the “Final Push Celebration” by the Paul campaign.

If you’re more of a visual person, here’s Paul’s event in pictures.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told the crowd that 2,000 people were inside the event, but other campaign sources said the number was closer to 1,750. Another 500 were reportedly shut out of the event by the Fire Marshall.

The cash bar kept supporters in high spirits as they waited for Ron Paul – who was two hours late – to take the stage.

Supporters repeatedly preempted Paul and interrupted him to chant upcoming, familiar lines.

Ron Paul primarily talked about personal liberty and defense issues at the gathering.

And then there’s this guy. Where did he get the easy chair from, and how did he get it in there? Good questions.
