Comedians, actors and musicians are taking to social media to encourage Americans to #GoVote this Election Day.
The organization HeadCount.org has partnered with over 300 celebrities in its #GoVote social media campaign, which has the celebs posting photos of themselves with #GoVote signs on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Participating celebrities include Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Rob Lowe, John Legend, Dave Matthews, Fergie, George Lopez, John Oliver, T.I., The Black Keys, Conan O’Brien and Sarah Silverman, among many others.
Here are a few good snaps from HeadCount’s Facebook page:
The organization developed the campaign as part of a larger initiative that invites Americans to encourage their family and friends to vote by sharing #GoVote images.
HeadCount bills itself as “non-partisan organization that works with musicians to promote participation in democracy.” Back in September, the organization launched a similar social media campaign to encourage voter registration.
“The incumbent Congress is the least popular in history, so we can’t leave it to the candidates alone to inspire people,” explained HeadCount co-founder Marc Brownstein of the #GoVote initiative. “We’re trying to get the message across that being dissatisfied is a bad reason not to vote – it’s the exact reason why participation is so important.”
Hopefully, the celebrities involved in HeadCount’s campaign actually took the time to vote themselves during the last midterm election, unlike many of the stars in Rock the Vote’s recent advertisement.
