Male swimmers are dominating women’s swimming this year at the collegiate level. After years of claiming inequality, championing female equity, blaming the patriarchy, and demanding action, these pursuits were quickly abandoned in lieu of men who wish to become women.
Liberals have advanced this nonsense into mainstream society and have done so at the expense of female athletes. The sport has essentially gone from women’s swimming to more men’s swimming.
Controversial transgender swimmer Lia Thomas gained notoriety in December when Thomas began breaking records and challenging the times of Olympic greats such as Katie Ledecky.
At a swim meet on Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, three Ivy League schools, Penn, Dartmouth, and Yale, competed against each other. Penn’s Thomas won two races but struggled overall. Moreover, Thomas’s times were not as dominant as in December. According to the Daily Mail, spectators said that Thomas looked to be “barely trying” in the races Thomas won.
However, the surprise of this meet was Yale swimmer Iszac Henig, who is transitioning to become a man. Hening won two events: the women’s 50-meter freestyle, with a time of 22.76 seconds, and the 100-meter freestyle, with a time of 49.57 seconds. Thomas finished fifth in the latter event at 52.84 seconds. The performances of these two swimmers in women’s swimming, one a former man and the other a future man, have caused even more outrage.
Faster than one can say gender dysphoria, collegiate females have been relegated to third-class citizens. In liberals’ minds, there is still the patriarchy to contend with, but now, transgender people have been elevated to second-class, a special, protected group of people. And in the wake of this transgender destruction, collegiate females are the collateral damage.
Henig is different from Thomas because Henig is a biological female transitioning to become a male. Lia Thomas is doing the opposite. Multiple media outlets reported that Henig has yet to start testosterone treatment and has delayed the transition until after the swim season. However, surgery was performed to remove Henig’s breasts. And, since Henig defeated Thomas, transphiles and many other liberals have cited Henig as proof that biological men and biological women can compete on a level playing field. This, of course, is not true.
Last weekend’s swim meet shows the chaos of the transphilia liberals have created. A wannabe man competed against a former man in women’s swimming — all at the expense of women swimmers.
