Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is urging Republicans in Congress to leave Twitter after her personal account was permanently suspended.
The Georgia Republican issued the call to action against the Big Tech company during a Fox News appearance Tuesday.
“Twitter has declared war on our party,” Greene told host Tucker Carlson.

Greene’s widely followed personal account was suspended Sunday for “repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy,” a Twitter spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. Greene’s congressional account remains active.

The congresswoman noted she created accounts on alternatives to Twitter, including Gab, Gettr, and Telegram, and said ditching Twitter for these other platforms would be an effective first step for her colleagues to take a meaningful stand against censorship.
“What are we going to do? Just sit there and go, ‘Oh we’re going to wait till we get the majority back, and then we’re going to have investigations.’ And then when we get full control, are we going to pass laws to stop this? Nothing was done in the past. Nothing has been done now,” she said.
While it remains unclear just what posts were the final straw, a spokesperson for Greene claims a thread posted Saturday about “Before COVID” and “After COVID” was what led to the suspension.
In the thread, Greene goes into detail about how life changed after the coronavirus, including allegations that “unvaccinated healthy people are a subclass being fired and denied services” and how “people are considered criminals if they don’t wear masks.” Greene concluded by saying “After Covid, We are no longer free.”

After Greene and virologist Dr. Robert Malone were booted from Twitter, top podcast host Joe Rogan announced he was joining Gettr, saying, “Just in case s*** over at Twitter gets even dumber, I’m here now as well. Rejoice!” and more than 500,000 people followed him to the platform.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said a Republican majority in the House would take action to crack down on Big Tech censorship.
“Twitter (all big tech), if you shut down constitutionally protected speech (not lewd and obscene) you should lose 230 protection. Acting as publisher and censorship regime should mean shutting down the business model you rely on today, and I will work to make that happen,” the California Republican tweeted Tuesday. “From President Trump to Dr. Malone to Congresswoman Greene, big tech’s censorship is out of control and must be addressed. A House GOP Majority WILL fight to hold them accountable.”
