Terry McAuliffe brought back his dance moves Tuesday night at a rally one week before Virginia voters decide whether to reelect him as governor of the state.
Standing next to President Joe Biden and others onstage in Arlington, McAuliffe could be seen doing a little jig while Ben Rector’s “Drive” played in a clip that went viral and prompted a wave of mockery, particularly from Republicans.
“Cringe, part ∞,” Jake Schneider of the Republican National Committee said in the tweet that shared video of the dance.

Earlier this year, in June, McAuliffe made waves on social media when he was caught on video dancing during a campaign event ahead of his state’s Democratic primary election.
In a playful response to the reactions he was getting, McAuliffe shared a video of his own. “I heard folks wanted more dancing videos!” he said in a tweet.

McAuliffe is facing off against Republican gubernatorial nominee Glenn Youngkin in the Nov. 2 election next week. Polls indicated it will be a close contest.

McAuliffe is a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee who first served as governor of Virginia from 2014 to 2018. Governors in the state are barred from serving two consecutive terms.
