President Joe Biden will deliver what hopefully will be his final State of the Union address on Thursday. Polls show voters do not want him invited back again next year. That’s because Biden has failed on the things they care about the most.
New polling shows that voters believe Biden’s biggest failures are his open border policies, his weak leadership at home and abroad, and his record spending that caused record-high prices. Voters are right.
Because of Biden, voters are worse off today than they were three years ago. We see it in terms of border security, economic security, and national security. Biden’s record is one of failure, crisis, and disaster.
At the southern border, Biden unleashed a dangerous flood of illegal immigration. In his first 100 days in office, Biden took 94 executive actions that opened the border. He reimplemented catch-and-release, ended the “Remain in Mexico” policy, and stopped construction of the border wall.
These open border policies have allowed more than 9 million illegal immigrant crossings in three years. That’s more than the population of 39 states.
The size, scope, and scale of the Biden border crisis are seriously harming our cities, hospitals, schools, and citizens.
The nation is still mourning the loss of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley, who was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant in Georgia while on a run. Her illegal immigrant killer represents everything wrong with Biden’s broken border: He was released into the country and was repeatedly arrested yet never deported.
Make no mistake: Laken Riley is dead because Biden refuses to enforce the law.
At home, Biden has remained faithful to the fiscal fraud he calls “Bidenomics.” Bidenomics is the false belief that Washington should control everything except its own spending.
$3 trillion in reckless, runaway Democratic spending triggered the highest prices in 40 years. Today, families feel like they can’t catch a break. More than three in five people are currently living paycheck to paycheck. The price of food is up more than 20%.
Bidenomics is ravaging wallets, wrecking our savings, and ruining the American dream.
Bidenomics is when families need to spend $900 more each month to buy the same things they were buying when Biden took office. It is when food costs are eating up paychecks at the highest level in 30 years. It is when credit card debt has surpassed $1 trillion due to higher prices and higher interest rates.
Democrats have done nothing to fix the economic hardship they caused. Instead, they continue to dismiss voters’ concerns.
Let’s be clear. When Washington wastes trillions of dollars, we all pay more. When Biden imposes the costliest regulatory agenda in history, we all pay more. When Democrats try to regulate what kind of car you can drive and what kind of stove you can cook with, we all pay more.
Around the world, America and our allies are facing increasing danger. Biden’s weakness is on full display for the world to see.
As commander in chief, Biden has failed to keep America safe. Instead, his weak leadership has made the world less safe.
Look around the world today. We see Iran funding terrorism, Hamas attacking Israel, Russia waging the largest land war in Europe since 1945, and China threatening Taiwan. In America, China is infiltrating our farmland, our schools, and even our skies.
Never before has America faced so many threats in so many places by so many adversaries.
We need to return to a basic truth: The best defense against our adversaries is peace through strength. Biden has it backward. He strengthens our enemies while ignoring our interests. Every American should be worried. Our allies no longer trust us, and our enemies no longer fear us.
With so many crises occurring at once, it is not surprising that most people believe our country is heading in the wrong direction.
That is why voters are determined to make Thursday’s State of the Union Biden’s last.
