A new battleground election tracker shows Republicans controlling the House come this fall’s midterm elections.
The poll unveiled by CBS News on Sunday showed that if November’s midterm elections were held today, Republicans would regain control of the House with 230 seats compared to 205 for Democrats. A total of 218 seats are needed to control the congressional chamber.
Democrats currently hold 220 seats compared to Republicans’ 211. At present, there are four vacant seats.

The poll found that GOP voters believe former President Donald Trump is fighting for issues that matter to a greater extent than Republicans in Congress, by a margin of 82% to 68%.
Results also showed that Democratic voters are discontent with the current state of the country, including the economy, crime, and foreign policy.
Of those who identify as Democrats, 61% said things in America are going somewhat or very badly.
The new data come as support for President Joe Biden hit a new low, plummeting to 38% in a RealClearPolitics average of polls on Wednesday.
Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) became one of the first sitting Democratic members of Congress Friday to say directly he would not back a second term for the president.

The CBS Battleground Tracker poll was conducted along with YouGov, surveying more than 91,000 voters across all 435 congressional districts between June 3 and July 29 for its House model, followed by a survey of 1,743 voters between July 27-29, with a reported margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
