“Shark Tank” star Barbara Corcoran’s brother died in April while vacationing in the Dominican Republic, the seventh American tourist to die while visiting the island in the last year.
John Corcoran died of an alleged heart attack and was found dead in his hotel room. Corcoran said she does not believe an autopsy was performed on her brother.
NBC News reported that his death does not appear related to other mysterious deaths of American tourists.
At least six other American tourists have died in the Dominican Republic in the last year.
A Pennsylvania woman died just days before a Maryland couple was found dead in their room at the same resort, the Bahia Principe Hotel in La Romana.
The deaths prompted a California man’s family to speak out after he died after drinking scotch from the minibar at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Another Pennsylvania woman also died at a Bahia Principe resort last year. Her sister said she had a drink from the minibar in her hotel room and never woke up after going to bed.
A Maryland woman recently said her husband died in 2018 of a pulmonary edema and a heart attack during a visit to the island.
