John Wall elected to NBA skills challenge

Wizards rookie point guard John Wall got voted into the NBA Skills competition for Saturday night.

Wall will compete against Wall Golden State’s Stephen Curry, Chicago’s Derrick Rose, Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook, who were also selected by the public, along with New Orleans’ Chris Paul – who got the Taco Bell exemption from having to be on the ballot – on All-Star Saturday Night.

Baron Davis of the Los Angeles Clippers, Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, Derek Fisher of the Los Angeles Lakers and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs didn’t get enough votes, it seems.

This weekend will be an excellent chance for Wall to enjoy himself and remind the rest of the NBA why he was selected first overall in last June’s draft. Don’t be surprised to see him have a strong showing in the rookie challenge this evening and the skills competition tomorrow.
