Lots of ‘Oh, no’ for Cowboys’ Romo

Tony Romo did it again. The Cowboys quarterback showed his elite talent while also exhibiting his tendency to cower in the clutch. Romo passed for 342 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets’ defense on Sunday night.

But his impressive first three quarters will be overlooked by Romo’s two turnovers in the fourth — a fumble on the 3-yard line and an interception with less than a minute remaining that set up the Jets’ game-winning field goal.

Romo has a better career passer rating (95.6) than Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, but he’s better known for his blunders.

In his first postseason game, Romo botched the hold on a game-winning field goal attempt. The Cowboys’ following season ended with Romo throwing an interception on the team’s final drive against the Giants in the divisional playoff round.

Romo has the talent to lead the Cowboys deep into the playoffs, but more blunders like Sunday night and he may be out of a starting job next year.
